| Press; Maisha Lounge Vol. 1 – Album Launch - 22nd October 2010
 Maisha Lounge Vol. 1 is the first release in a new series of albums with Swahili lounge music. The album is a mix of chilled out electronic beats and synths blended with traditional Tanzanian instruments such as Ngoma, Chalimba, Zeze and Marimba. Maisha Lounge Vol. 1 features well-known Tanzanian artist from very different Tanzanian music styles, such as Bongo Flava, Reggae, Hip Hop, Taraab and traditional music. The launch of the album will be on Wednesday the 22nd October 2010 at The Waterfront at Slipway, Dar es Salaam. The event will run from 18:00-21:00 with a live performance around sunset. We expect quite a lot of people, so please reserve a table if you would like to have dinner there as well. The Waterfront is a sunset spot, and therefore a nice venue to start the small holiday with refreshing drink, an innovative live performance and some great company. The artists featuring on Maisha Lounge Vol. 1 are: Carola Kinasha Hardmad Ray C Fid Q Shakila Lord Eyes Mzawose Misoji Lufu With Maisha Lounge Vol. 1, Maisha Music is taking Tanzanian music into a new direction. At the moment it seems that the options are either Bongo Flava, modern taarab or Guitar Music with a strong Congolese influence. In other words Tanzanian music options are not as diverse as they could be, especially in a big city as Dar es Salaam. We have therefore decided to produce a new sound to illustrate the global connection of Tanzanian music. We simply take the best of different cultural and musical backgrounds and combine them into a new appealing sound. Maisha Music believes this is the first lounge album ever produced in Tanzania featuring Tanzanian artists and musicians… In general lounge music is not being played live very often, but with Maisha Lounge Vol. 1 we are taking this music style a step further to also implement a live set up. At these live performances we will mix electronic beats and effects, traditional Tanzanian instruments and some of the best vocalists in the country.
